Developing circular, eco-friendly, and innovative solutions to reduce emissions in the construction industry.

RECONSTRUCT is a European project aimed at promoting circularity in the construction sector to reduce its significant environmental impact through:

    1. Developing low-carbon alternatives for cement and steel
    2. Recycled and modular products
    3. Incorporating deconstruction into building design

The construction sector consumes 32% of natural resources and generates 25% of total solid waste.

Consequently, it is responsible for 40% of greenhouse gas emissions, with over one-third coming from embodied carbon in construction, mainly from cement and steel. Therefore, the main goal of RECONSTRUCT is to develop alternative materials to cement that minimize the use of virgin resources. These innovative materials will be used in demo buildings, which will also incorporate deconstruction into their design.   We are 16 partners from 5 countries: Spain, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom and Greece.     Visit this EU project at reconstruct-project.eu. https://youtu.be/aW0Fjr9oN34
